I was in the area for about 10 days on a business trip. We managed to eat here 3 times, the food, service, and quality were so good.

A small restaurant with a comfortable atmosphere, BYOB, they're closed between lunch and dinner sessions. The menu features good descriptions of various Indian dishes, including what region they are from, etc. Plenty of vegetarian options, along with seafood, lamb, etc.

I'd recommend the Lamb Cardamom, and everything else on the menu. 6 or 7 is VERY hot/spicy (which I liked). They're very patient and helpful about questions about the cuisine.

Just excellent.

As a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, and retired Culinary Arts Teacher for more than 39 years, I feel more than eminently qualified to say "This was hands down, the best Indian meal my wife and I have ever enjoyed.
The restaurant is very nicely appointed with a lovely atmosphere and furnishings.
Gigi and his wife are magnificent in the preparation of recipes he proudly states are handed down from mother to daughter and mother to son.
Everything we had was exquisitely prepared, exciting to the palate, and the presentation was beautiful.
We shared an appetizer of Pakora perfectly prepared with two excellent sauces to sample.
My Lamb Rogan Josh was so tender it literally dissolved on my tongue. The sauce with just the perfect amount of seasoning made my salivary glands pump overtime.
My wife had the chicken khorma which also proved to be a gustatory extravaganza.
We had a side of mango chutney and two orders of Nann which precluded ordering dessert (which Gigi convinced us we must try on our next visit). You may rest assured the next visit will be very soon.

Cafe Bombay Reviews by Robert P

I have been a regular at Cafe Bombay not only because of the excellent cusine and atmosphere but the service is second to none. The owner, Gigi, will see that your food is prepared to your temperature tolerance. This means rather than having Indian food being served to you either at SUPER Hot and OMG!, Gigi will ask you what level of spicy hot you like your meal on a scale of 1 to 10.

Personally, I prefer 4 on the spicy scale, which, to me,adds just enough zing to my dinner or lunch without making my toes curl or make my eyes water. Maybe someday I will venture into level 5 but not just now.

Another good measure of an ethnic cusines is the number of the ethnic people who frequent a restaurant. When I look for a Chinese restaurant I look for a restaurant that native Chinese choose to enjoy authentic Chinese prepared meals. Such is the case with Cafe Bombay you will find very satisfied guests who are native of India on a regular basis.
